A driving license issued in the UAE. EXPAT MEDIA

Did you know that if you have a UAE Golden Visa you can get a driving license in Dubai without undergoing training? The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said that this privilege is for UAE Golden Visa holders with a driving license issued in their home country. Applicants can skip taking driving classes in the UAE but must pass the RTA’s drivers’ knowledge test and road test. According to the RTA, individuals who are interested in getting a driving license in Dubai can apply through the RTA website or RTA customer service centers. Applications will take only five minutes on the RTA website and approximately 10 minutes in driving institutes. Apply here UAE Golden Visa holders with a valid driver’s license from their home country can present a copy of their driving licence and also their Knowledge Test result and Road Test result. The RTA also said that UAE citizens and residents in Dubai who are of legal age and are medically fit can also apply for the service. Here are the requirements:

Dubai residents:

- Original Emirates ID Other requirements - Copy of doctor’s letter of approval (if pregnant) - Copy of certificate of transfer to doctor (for special needs) - Medical test from Rashid Hospital (for special needs)

Residents with visa issued in other emirates

- Tenancy agreement copy - Copy of company’s trade license (for business owners) - Letter from company certifying that the applicant works in Dubai Other requirements - Copy of doctor’s letter of approval (if pregnant) - Copy of certificate of transfer to doctor (for special needs) - Medical test from Rashid Hospital (for special needs)

Diplomats

- Diplomatic passport copy - Original Emirates ID (if available) or copy of Diplomatic Card - Copy of letter from Ministry of Foreign Affairs (valid for at least 6 months)

UAE citizens without family book

- Copy of valid passport - Copy of valid Marsoom

UAE passport holders whose mother is Emirati

- Copy of birth certificate - Copy of valid passport - Letter from General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs stating that the applicant’s mother is Emirati.
