Skilled workers can now apply for 5-year residency

According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE), skilled employees must be classed at the first, second, or third occupational level to apply for a green visa. The applicant must hold a bachelor's degree in one of the following professional fields: science, law, education, culture, or the social sciences, and have a valid job contract with a salary of Dh15,000 in the UAE.

Criteria for skilled workers

— Have received a work permit utilizing a UAE-legal employment contract. — Holding a first, second, or third-level post as a skilled worker by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization's classification system. — Have a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. — Earn a minimum wage of Dh15,000 per month or its equivalent in another currency.

Requirements

— A valid MOHRE or equivalent employment contract that verifies the employee's work title and monthly income. — A bachelor's degree with documentation, or the equivalent.

How to apply

In compliance with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security's policies, Green Visa applications may be submitted through icp.gov.ae. KD/Expat Media
