Beware of job scam, UAE healthcare group warns

  DUBAI – Fraudsters are posing as representatives of a UAE-based healthcare group to dupe unsuspecting jobseekers with fake employment offers. VPS Healthcare gave the warning after it received reports of fake job contracts sent by fraudsters posing as representatives of its Response Plus Medical Services unit. The Abu Dhabi-based healthcare group clarified that it only communicates with applicants through its official email addresses. Victims have said they were approached by agents who promised them jobs and then conducted a virtual interview before sending an employment contract via WhatsApp. Many of the bogus offers are for nursing jobs that pay a monthly salary of Dh5,000. VPS Healthcare Chief HR officer Sanjai Kumar said the group does not authorize third parties to issue job offers on its behalf, and does not collect fees from job applicants. “We follow a formal recruitment process through our HR department and do not solicit any payment from applicants as a pre-employment requirement,” Kumar said.
