UAE Hope Probe sends its first Mars picture

  DUBAI – The UAE’s Hope Probe sent its first picture of Mars as the Arab-made spacecraft entered the Red Planet’s orbit on a two-year space mission. The Hope Probe's photo of the planet was shared by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Twitter. “The first picture of Mars captured by the first-ever Arab probe in history, 25,000 km above the Red Planet's surface,” Sheikh Mohammed said. The photo was taken 25,000 kilometres above Mars’ surface and was taken by the camera onboard the space craft. The Hope Probe will be spending 687 Earth days to capture data about Martian weather and climate to help scientists gain deeper insight into the possibility of humans living in Mars.
