The UAE Cybersecurity Council has warned public and private entities about the threat of cyberattacks on “national digital infrastructure and assets”. The council called on individuals, businesses and government departments to report and guard against “any suspicious electronic activities that may harm their systems”. In a statement, the UAE Cybersecurity Council said that online criminals use “increasingly sophisticated techniques to break into systems” and gather sensitive data. Meanwhile, the UAE’s head of cybersecurity revealed that the UAE has made huge efforts to combat online crime. The country prevents more than 50,000 attacks each day, said Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, the government's head of cybersecurity. Al Kuwaiti said that the four top sectors that are most at risk of cyberattacks are banking, finance, health, and oil and gas. ICA/Expat Media
