The UAE, alongside 20 other Arab and Islamic countries, has condemned Israel’s recent attacks against Iran and urged an end to hostilities in the region. In a joint statement issued on Tuesday (June 17), the countries expressed strong rejection of Israel’s military strikes on Iran that began at dawn on June 13, calling the aggression a “violation of international law and the UN Charter.” The foreign ministers emphasized the need to respect sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the principles of good neighborliness. They warned that the growing escalation could threaten regional security and stability. The countries jointly called for immediate cessation of Israeli attacks against Iran and a return to diplomatic negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program to ensure a nuclear weapons-free Middle East, in line with international resolutions. The countries also called for protection of nuclear facilities in accordance with IAEA and Security Council mandates; respect for international maritime security and freedom of navigation, and non-military solutions to regional crises. They stressed that diplomacy and dialogue are the only paths to lasting peace in the region.
