The UAE will experience the longest day of the year on Wednesday (June 21) with more than 14 hours of daylight and high temperatures to signal the start of the summer season. On Wednesday, daylight hours will be an exceptionally long 14 hours and 30 minutes. The first light of the sun will be at 5:10am, reaching full sunrise at 5:35am. Sunset will start at 7:14am, with the last light at 7:40pm. June 21 is also known as the summer solstice, the longest day and shortest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere when the sun appears directly over the Tropic of Cancer. The National Centre of Meteorology forecasts Wednesday’s weather to be fair to partly cloudy with the chance of rain clouds in the afternoon. Humidity levels will increase at night and on Thursday morning, with probability of fog over some coastal areas and internal areas.
