The UAE has taken its Golden Visa program to a new level with the launch of exclusive consular services for Golden Visa holders and their families — a world-first initiative unveiled at GITEX Global 2025. The move comes through a collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). The new suite of services, which were previously only available to Emiratis, are now available to other nationalities as long as they hold a Golden Visa. The services includes the issuance of an electronic Return Document for Golden Visa holders who lose or damage their passports abroad. If a golden visa holder loses or damages their passport when travelling, MoFA will arrange an e-document valid for seven days that will allow them to return to the UAE.  Golden Visa holders will also have access to a dedicated hotline for 24/7 support. Emergency assistance will also be available via MoFA’s Call Centre at 0097124931133, ensuring immediate help and evacuation during crises and natural calamities. In a significant expansion of the UAE’s humanitarian approach, the services now include repatriation of mortal remains of Golden Visa holders who pass away abroad, in coordination with health and official authorities — easing the burden on grieving families. Major General Suhail Al Khaili, Director General of ICP, said the initiative reflects the UAE’s leadership vision to empower residents and provide comprehensive support. “The introduction of these services represents a qualitative leap in government integration aimed at serving people,” Al Khaili said. “It translates the leadership’s directives to empower distinguished residents and reflect the UAE’s values of humanity, generosity, and excellence.” The initiative reinforces the UAE’s position as a global leader in innovative governance and resident welfare.
