Authorities in the UAE have initiated a formal investigation following reports that an Emirati violated the country’s travel ban to Lebanon. Attorney General Dr. Hamad Al Shamsi said the man traveled to Lebanon with his family, putting their lives at risk despite the country’s clear travel advisory against visiting the region. The Attorney General revealed that the individual circumvented the travel ban by first traveling to another country before entering Lebanon. “By doing so, this person not only endangered his own life but also the lives of his family members,” said Dr. Al Shamsi in a statement. The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has had a travel ban to Lebanon in place due to security risks and political instability in the region. The travel restrictions are designed to protect citizens from potential harm, and violating them could lead to legal consequences, including imprisonment, fines, or both. Dr. Al Shamsi urged all Emirati citizens to adhere to official travel advisories issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “These restrictions are in place for the safety and well-being of all our citizens, and we must take them seriously,” he added, emphasizing the importance of following guidelines meant to prevent exposure to dangerous situations.
