The UAE has taken a major step toward smart mobility with the launch of RoboTaxi trials in Abu Dhabi, operated by Autogo, a UAE-based autonomous mobility company under Kintsugi Holding. The full service is expected to roll out by 2026. The 6th generation RT6 RoboTaxi was designed specifically for autonomous ride-hailing, offering a safer, smarter, and more sustainable alternative to traditional transport. The trials, conducted in partnership with Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), aim to ensure the RoboTaxi service aligns with the emirate’s transport infrastructure and regulations. The RoboTaxi vehicles, which operate fully on electric power, are equipped with AI-driven systems that enable precise, real-time responsiveness to road conditions. Sean Teo, Managing Director of Kintsugi Holding, emphasized the impact of the project: "The launch of RoboTaxi trials in Abu Dhabi marks the beginning of a large-scale transformation in urban mobility. RoboTaxis serve two key goals—enhancing road safety and achieving more sustainable transportation." The initiative is being developed in partnership with Apollo Go, the self-driving unit of Chinese tech giant Baidu, which has already logged over 150 million kilometers of autonomous driving and completed over 10 million ride orders worldwide.
