As the UAE observes a public holiday on Friday (September 5) to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the country’s leaders extended messages of peace, unity, and goodwill. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan wrote on X: “On the anniversary of the birth of our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, the Prophet of humanity, love, and noble morals, we pray to Allah Almighty that peace and stability prevail in the region and the entire world, and that humanity enjoys security and harmony.” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said: “We congratulate the Islamic nation on the anniversary of the birth of the best of mankind, the bearer of good news and the warner, the guiding light, and the mercy of Allah to all the worlds, peace and blessings be upon him. We ask Allah Almighty to return this anniversary to our nation and to the world with goodness, safety, prosperity, and stability.” Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum added: “On the anniversary of the birth of the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, we recall the highest meanings of good morals and mercy… His birth marked the beginning of a noble message that brought goodness to humanity and illuminated hearts with guidance and virtue.” Sheikh Hamdan also congratulated the UAE leadership, the nation’s people, and the wider Muslim world, praying for peace and prosperity. The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation declared September 5 a holiday for both public and private sector employees. The date corresponds to the 12th of Rabi Al Awwal in the Hijri calendar, observed worldwide as Mawlid Al Nabawi. The next UAE public holiday will be the 54th National Day on December 2 and 3, with Commemoration Day expected on December 1—potentially giving residents a four-day weekend. ICA/Expat Media
