How to replace lost Emirates ID in UAE

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has provided UAE citizens and residents a service called Fawri to obtain a replacement for their lost Emirate ID within 24 hours. The Emirate ID is a mandatory identity card for all UAE citizens and residents to gain access to government services and pass through immigration using smart gates. Here's all you need to know about Fawri service:  

What is Fawri service, and who is eligible to use it?

According to ICP, Fawri service is used to issue Emirates ID cards, renew expired cards, or replace lost or damaged cards. It is available for UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nationals who are living in the UAE with all group ages eligible to apply. Expats who are not GCC nationals can avail of the service to replace their lost or damaged identity cards. GCC countries include Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Oman.  

What should I do if my cards have been lost, stolen, or damaged in the UAE?

ICP has reiterated to go to the nearest ICP Customer Happiness Center if the identity cards have been lost or stolen. The person who lost his card must bring documents to the ICP center to prove his identity and report the incident so that the card will be deactivated. If the card has been damaged, the person must present the old card to the ICP center.  

What are the documents needed to avail Fawri service in the UAE?

UAE nationals: Original valid passport and family book GCC nationals: Document proving residency in the UAE Expat residents: Original passport stamped with valid residency permit If the lost ID belongs to a child under 15 years old, the parent must provide an original birth certificate of the child as well as a colored passport photo on a white background.  

How to replace lost Emirates ID using Fawri service in the UAE?

- Fill in an application form at any of ICA's Customer Happiness Centers or download the UAE ICP app from iTunes or Google Play and request a replacement ID card. - Pay the fees. - ICP will send the applicant a text about the status of the submitted application and the expected delivery date. The ID card will be issued within 24 hours from the time of submitting the express service application. - When notification is received that the card is available, contact Emirates Post to organize receipt of the card.  

How much does it cost to replace a lost Emirate ID in the UAE?

If applying through a typing center, applicants must pay Dh300, with an application fee of Dh70. However, the online application cost (eForm) is Dh40, with an express service cost of Dh150.
