False: Emirates ID obtained by only paying fees

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) debunked the promotional information on social media platforms that claims that Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) citizens can only receive the Emirates ID by only paying the fees. GCC countries include the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. The ICP warned people to be wary of misleading advertising, and reiterated that rules on getting the Emirates ID have not changed. How to get an Emirates ID?

You can apply for an Emirates ID card on the ICP website or at an accredited typing center. You may go to ICP's service locations to supply your biometric information.
