UAE: Man to pay Dh22,889 after damaging his friend’s car in a road accident

A man who borrowed and damaged his friend's car in a traffic accident has been fined Dh22,889. The Al Ain Civil Court of First Instance issued the ruling, requiring the man to pay cash to his friend as compensation for the damages. According to court records, the young man filed a case against his friend, demanding that he pay him Dh70,000 in compensation for the material and moral damages he experienced as a result of destroying his automobile. According to the plaintiff's case, he lent his car to a friend who needed it. The defendant caused an accident and fled after badly damaging the vehicle. BKM/ Expat Media
