The UAE marks the fourth anniversary of the Day of Resolve, also known as Day of Solidarity on Saturday (January 17), honouring the nation’s spirit of unity, resilience, and the strong bond between its leadership and people. To commemorate the occasion, the UAE Armed Forces, in cooperation with Fursan Al Emarat, the UAE National Aerobatic Team, will conduct aerial displays across all seven emirates. The nationwide flypast will feature a mix of helicopters and fighter jets, beginning in Abu Dhabi before flying over Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Qaiwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah. Observed annually, the Day of Resolve highlights values of determination, national cohesion, and collective responsibility. It serves as a reminder of the country’s readiness to face challenges and its commitment to protecting national security through unity and preparedness. The occasion also reflects the UAE’s long-standing stance against terrorism and extremism. For decades, the country has advocated for global cooperation to confront extremist ideologies and promote regional and international stability. This commitment was clearly demonstrated through the UAE’s humanitarian and security efforts in Yemen. The UAE Armed Forces played a key role in countering extremist groups that threatened regional security and vital maritime routes, while simultaneously supporting the delivery of humanitarian aid to affected civilians. The UAE’s efforts contributed to weakening terrorist organisations such as Al Qaida and Daesh, helping liberate key cities and limit their expansion. Protecting strategic waterways, including the Gulf of Aden and the Bab Al Mandab Strait, also formed a major part of these operations, safeguarding global trade routes from disruption. Alongside security operations, the UAE prioritised humanitarian assistance, establishing air and sea bridges to deliver food, medical aid, and emergency supplies. Development programmes and emergency interventions were also carried out to rebuild infrastructure, combat disease outbreaks, and support vulnerable communities across Yemen. Through its participation in regional and international coalitions, including the Global Coalition against Daesh formed in 2014, the UAE continues to reinforce its role as a key partner in promoting peace, tolerance, and humanitarian action worldwide.
