UAE ministry's stern warning after child is trapped in Sharjah home's door

  DUBAI - The Ministry of Interior issued a stern warning this week, calling on families and parents to monitor their children and not leave them unattended after an incident in Sharjah where a child got her hand stuck in a glass door. The ministry posted a video of the rescue where members of the Sharjah Civil Defence tried to free the child's hand that got wedged into the crevice of a shut glass door. The girl could be heard crying as rescuers carefully tried to free her trapped limb. "Children take many unexpected steps to assert themselves, leading to difficult situations without realizing the seriousness of their lives," the ministry said in a statement. "The reasons of accidents that occur are mainly from the absence of supervision, where parents have a great responsibility towards their children and have the main role in taking precautions to avoid accidents that occur to them," it added.
