The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has urged UAE residents to be on high alert against scam calls from unknown or suspicious numbers. In a post on its official X account, the ministry warned: “Beware of unknown phone numbers.” MoHRE cautioned that fraudsters may impersonate official entities in order to steal personal or confidential information through phishing calls. “Tto safeguard your data, we urge you to be cautious of calls from unknown or potentially fake phone numbers that aim to conduct phone phishing and obtain your personal or confidential information. The caller may falsely claim to be from an official entity,” the ministry said. Residents are advised to report any suspicious activities directly through the call centre at 600590000 or via email at ask@mohre.gov.ae. To stay safe, MoHRE outlined these precautionary steps: • Always verify contact numbers through official platforms such as websites or verified social media accounts. • Confirm suspicious calls by contacting the MoHRE call centre. • Use only the ministry’s official phone number or email address for communication. The ministry stressed that safeguarding personal data remains the responsibility of every resident, and vigilance is key to combating phone-based fraud in the UAE. ICA/Expat Media
