A premium mobile number sold for Dh500,000 during a charity auction in Dubai, making it the most expensive mobile number sold in the UAE so far this year. The number 0500000012 was among several premium telecom numbers offered during the Most Noble Number charity auction held at the Armani Hotel Dubai in the Burj Khalifa on Saturday (March 7). The number was provided by e& UAE as part of a fundraising effort supporting the Edge of Life campaign.

Premium numbers in demand

The sale of 10 premium e& numbers raised Dh1.905 million during the auction. Top bids included: • Dh500,000 for 0500000012 • Dh260,000 for 0500000013 • Dh240,000 for 0500000023 • Dh200,000 for 0500000024 Other premium telecom numbers were also auctioned by du, raising Dh8 million in total. The highest du bid reached Dh4.5 million for 0580000000. The auction was organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives in collaboration with Emirates Auction. Funds raised will support the Edge of Life campaign, launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to help combat childhood hunger globally.
