The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) conducted a record 688,000 inspections of private firms in 2024, uncovering 12,509 violations. These infractions included failures to meet labor, health, and safety standards, as well as illegal recruitment practices. According to MOHRE, a total of 29,000 fines were imposed on companies for violations such as charging recruitment fees to workers, failing to pay wages, and non-compliance with labor housing standards. The Ministry’s Smart Inspection System played a key role in this initiative.
