The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) recently met with several recruitment agencies in the UAE to discuss recent advancements and ways to utilize the Nafis platform to benefit businesses with 50 or more employees in achieving the Emiratization targets of 2% for skilled jobs by the end of 2022. The meeting was held as part of efforts to put into effect the relevant UAE Cabinet resolution and avoid the penalties that will be applied to businesses that are not committed to meeting the necessary targets starting in January 2023. Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization, and senior representatives from 66 UAE companies with various specializations attended the meeting. These companies included ones that offer temporary employment and labor supply services through mediation offices. Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar stated: "The UAE labor market is transitioning into a new stage that emphasizes the crucial position of national human capital within the private sector." He continued that the country's labor market is about to undergo fundamental changes due to rising civic engagement and improved regional business environment competition. This is in light of the assistance offered by the Nafis program to Emirati cadres and businesses in the private sector, as well as the ministry's follow-up efforts to put governing laws and decrees into effect that are intended to increase the participation of citizens in the private sector. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to assisting the private sector, serving as a significant partner in the development of Emiratization, achieving the nation's goals to enhance the business environment, and fostering an investment climate that encourages businesses, investors, entrepreneurs, and talents from around the world to work in the UAE, particularly in strategic priority sectors.
