A mother was fined Dh1,100 after assaulting her two children, ages eight and ten, using a phone charging cable. The Fujairah Federal Court of First Instance fined her, and the Civil Court ordered her to pay Dh20,000 in compensation to the children's father. The father had reported to the police that his children had been beaten by their mother. His 10-year-old son, he added, had bruises and scratches on his back, thighs, and face. His 8-year-old son, on the other hand, had a bruise on his left thigh, abrasions on his right thigh, and redness on his left leg. The woman admitted to the accusations and claimed she hit them with the cable to motivate them to study. She said that she would not repeat her abusive actions. BKM/ Expat Media
