The UAE government has announced a four-day weekend for public sector employees in celebration of the country’s 53rd National Day, now called Eid Al Etihad. The holiday begins on Saturday (November 30) and runs until Tuesday (December 3). Regular working hours will resume on Wednesday (December 4), providing a much-anticipated break for government employees to celebrate the unification of the emirates. Private sector employees will also get a 4-day weekend, starting with the Saturday and Sunday weekend, and then paid holidays on December 2 and 3, which falls on Monday and Tuesday respectively, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. The announcement aligns with the UAE’s unified holiday policy, ensuring both public and private sector workers enjoy equal time off.
