UAE: New radar for pedestrian crossings to activate starting April 3

New radars to catch pedestrian crossing violations will be activated starting on Monday (April 3), according to the Umm Al Quwain Police. The new radars in Umm Al Quwain will monitor and catch motorists who fail to stop for pedestrians at the crossings. Violators will be fined Dh500 and given six black points on their traffic file for not giving way to pedestrians. According to police, the radars have been installed to reduce the number of accidents involving motorists running over pedestrians at crossings. ICA/Expat Media
