The UAE’s Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has dismissed rumours about an alleged fraud using the UAE Pass. Reports have circulated on social media that the UAE Pass is being used by hackers for fraudulent purposes. The TDRA dismissed the reports as rumours, and reiterated that the UAE Pass is highly secure. "TDRA stresses the importance of exercising caution when receiving any notifications or login requests. It is essential to thoroughly verify these requests before clicking any buttons to avoid potential fraud attempts by individuals seeking unauthorised access to your accounts," the TDRA said. The UAE Pass is a government app that serves at the user's national digital identity to access several government services online. The app creates a digital identity for users so that they can use it to log on to different apps without needing to create multiple usernames and passwords. ICA/Expat Media
