The UAE passport retained its position as the world’s most powerful passport, according to the Passport Index 2024. The UAE bested Germany, Spain, France, Italy and the Netherlands, which came in second place, and Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, Austria and Switzerland in third place. The UAE passport allows its holder to enter 180 countries, including 120 countries without prior visa, and 50 countries with e-visa or visa on arrival. Passport holders of Germany, Spain, France, Italy and the Netherlands can enter 178 countries, while those with passports from Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, Austria and Switzerland can enter 177 countries. The Passport Index 2024 ranked the passports of Denmark, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, Ireland and South Africa in fourth place, with its holders allowed to 176 countries. Passports of Singapore, Greece, Norway, Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Japan and New Zealand came in fifth place, with their holders allowed to enter 175 countries.
