Motorists in the UAE will need to pay more for petrol and diesel starting July 1, after the UAE Fuel Price Committee announced on Monday (June 30) a hike in fuel prices for the month. The price increase follows earlier projections of a global oil surge triggered by escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, including US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites. Both countries agreed to a US-brokered ceasefire on June 24, after a 12-day barrage of airstrikes. Here are the updated UAE fuel prices effective from July 1: Super 98 petrol: Dh2.70 per litre (up from Dh2.58 in June) Special 95 petrol: Dh2.58 per litre (up from Dh2.47) E-Plus 91 petrol: Dh2.51 per litre (up from Dh2.39) Diesel: Dh2.63 per litre (up from Dh2.45) In June, fuel prices remained unchanged from May after a slight rise in April, breaking a two-month downward trend.
