UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been invited by Iran’s president to visit the country, state news agency WAM reported. Minister of State Khalifa Shaheen Almarar received the invitation letter addressed to Sheikh Mohammed during a meeting with Iran Ambassador to the UAE Reza Amiri in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (August 2). The official invitation was from Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi, and comes as Sheikh Mohamed is on tour on Jordan for an official visit. In June, Sheikh Mohamed met with Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Abu Dhabi in the latest sign of improving relations between the UAE and Iran. Sheikh Mohammed and Amir-Abdollahian “discussed the importance of building on positive developments to benefit the people of the region and enhance regional stability and prosperity,” WAM reported.
