UAE President passes law establishing Abu Dhabi Media Office

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, has passed a law establishing the Abu Dhabi Media Office. The new body, which includes the Creative Media Authority and the Abu Dhabi Media Company, replaces the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office. The Abu Dhabi Media Office (ADMO), as an independent entity, will oversee a unified media ecosystem in the emirate by establishing Abu Dhabi's media strategy, aligning the media plans and policies of Abu Dhabi Government entities, and regulating and licensing media activities in the emirate, including free zones. The new corporation will form strategic alliances with local, regional, and international media organizations to further drive the expansion of Abu Dhabi's media business. It will also improve efforts to synchronize media campaigns and strategic plans across government entities, approve appropriate media plans and oversee their implementation locally and internationally in collaboration with relevant entities. ADMO will design plans, policies, and programs to boost the capacities of media teams in government organizations to enhance capabilities in the media sector further. The Abu Dhabi Media Office will also develop brand standards using the Abu Dhabi Government's logo and promotional brands. To encourage the growth of creative media in the emirate, ADMO will work with appropriate entities and media organizations to create an enabling environment for creative entities to thrive by assisting private sector companies and developing initiatives to attract media content and increase its promotion in the emirate.
