UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Philippines' Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday (September 10). During the meeting, Abalos delivered the greetings of Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his best wishes for the UAE's continued prosperity and stronger ties between the two nations. Sheikh Mohamed also conveyed his greetings to the Philippine President and his wishes for the ongoing progress of the country and its people. The two parties discussed the bilateral cooperation between the UAE and the Philippines and looked into ways to strengthen relations to serve both countries' interests. The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi; Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region; Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence; Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Ministry of Presidential Court. The DILG Secretary previously had his official visit to Dubai on Sunday (September 8) but had to shorten his trip following the arrest of fugitive Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder, pastor Apollo Quiboloy. The DILG and Philippine National Police presented Quiboloy to the public in a press conference on Monday (September 9). Abalos plans to return to Dubai on Thursday to oversee the extradition of a Filipino suspect wanted for sexual exploitation.
