Sheikh Hazza bin Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan died on Thursday (May 9), with the burial held on the same day in Abu Dhabi as part of Islamic customs. The office of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed its condolences over the death of Sheikh Hazza. The cause of death was not announced. A funeral prayer was held on Thursday at the Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed The First Mosque followed by his burial at the Al Bateen cemetery in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Hazza, who was in his 30s, was an equestrian enthusiast. Sheikh Hazza was the son of the late Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who was the son of the UAE’s founding father Sheikh Zayed, and the brother of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed. Sheikh Hazza’s death comes just a week after the UAE mourned the death of another member of the royal family, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohamed Al Nahyan. Sheikh Tahnoun was the Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain Region and was a close companion of Sheikh Zayed. ICA/Expat Media
