UAE public, private sectors to get 13 fully paid holidays in 2023
The UAE Digital Government (UAE DGov) has revealed the UAE Cabinet-approved list of public holidays for 2023, which apply to both the public and commercial sectors. According to the UAE DGov, the list of public holidays for 2023 contains 13 fully paid days: New Year: January 1 Eid Al Fitr: Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3 (4 days) Arafat Day: Dhul Hijjah 9 Eid Al Adha: Dhul Hijjah 10-12 (3 days) Hijri New Year: July 21 Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday: September 29 UAE National Day: December 2 and 3 (2 days) The UAE will mark Prophet Muhammad’s birthday on September 29. Islamic holidays will be determined according to moon sighting. UAE National Day will be celebrated on December 2 and 3.According to UAE DGov, government departments and private establishments will be closed to mark National Day on December 2 and 3. The "Spirit of the Union" is the official theme of the UAE's National Day celebrations. It is based on the vision and leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE's founding president. The theme is complimented by a logo that features a silhouette of the iconic image of the UAE's Founding Fathers meeting on December 2, 1971.
