The UAE has been ranked the second safest country in the world for 2025, according to a report by global statistics platform Numbeo. With an impressive safety index of 84.5, the UAE trails only Andorra (84.7) but outperforms Qatar (84.2), Taiwan (82.9), and Oman (81.7). The rankings, based on crime rates, security measures, and public perception, highlight the UAE’s low violent crime rate, advanced surveillance systems, and strict law enforcement policies as key factors contributing to its high score. “The UAE remains committed to providing a safe environment for residents, investors, and visitors,” the report stated. The UAE’s stringent laws, state-of-the-art security infrastructure, and proactive policing strategies have cemented its position as one of the world’s safest places to live and visit. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, previously emphasized the country’s commitment to safety, saying: "Residents can safely walk alone at night. Security is a blessing, and security means a calm and happy life. If someone tells you that a woman can walk alone, during the day or night, without fear, know that she is in the UAE."

Andorra takes the top spot

Andorra, a tiny European nation between France and Spain, has secured the top rank with 84.7 points. Known for its breathtaking mountain views, ski resorts, and tax-free shopping, Andorra has an almost non-existent crime rate and one of the highest life expectancies in the world. This makes it an increasingly attractive destination for safety-conscious travelers. Qatar, which ranks third with a score of 84.2, maintains a strong reputation for safety due to its low crime rate and conservative laws. Taiwan follows in fourth place with 82.9, recognized for its low levels of violent crime and theft. Meanwhile, the UK ranked 87th (51.7), while the US placed 89th (50.8)—both significantly lower in comparison. Venezuela remains the most dangerous country in the world, ranking 146th with a safety score of just 19.3, largely due to political unrest and high crime rates. With global travelers prioritizing security, these rankings are expected to influence tourism trends, positioning countries like the UAE, Qatar, and Oman as top choices for safety-conscious visitors in the Middle East.
