The UAE has been named the world’s safest country in 2025, topping the Numbeo Safety Index with an impressive safety score of 85.2. The country outpaced other top contenders including Andorra, Qatar, Taiwan, and Macau. The UAE had previously ranked second in March 2025 but reclaimed the top position in the mid-year update. Abu Dhabi also retained its title as the world’s safest city, scoring 88.2 in the safety index and logging the lowest global crime rate of 11.8. A recent global study also found that Abu Dhabi is the safest city to walk alone at night, scoring 87 out of 100. Dubai ranked fifth worldwide for city safety, confirming the UAE’s growing international reputation for public security. The country’s residents also expressed strong satisfaction with their personal safety and living conditions, according to a survey involving more than 100,000 participants across 190 nationalities. The study also highlighted the UAE’s high rankings in healthcare, education, job opportunities, and overall quality of life.
