Two Ferrari supercar models were among 14,793 vehicles recalled in the UAE for defects that could lead to safety issues, including a fuel leak. The recall affects 43 Ferrari 296 GTB and GTS cars built in Italy between 2022 and 2023. According to the UAE’s Ministry of Economy, an aluminium pipe connecting the fuel tank “may result in galvanic corrosion, which causes a hole inside the connecting pipe. The hole may result in a fuel leak from the pipe.” The Ministry of Economy urged affected car owners to contact official distributors for free replacements. The ministry also issued a recall for 7,126 Chevrolet Captiva vehicles made in China between 2020 and 2023 over a defective cooling fan and AC blower fuse that could spark a fire. The UAE is also recalling 2,665 Ford Mustang vehicles built in USA between 2015 and 2017 to replace the rear-view camera and installing a luggage compartment lid wiring jumper harness. A recall notice was also issued for 2,080 Lincoln Aviator, Lincoln Corsair and Ford Explorer models built between 2020 and 2023, and 556 GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Equinox vehicles over child restraints and booster seat anchorage systems. The UAE has also issued a recall for 2,323 Range Rover models built in 2022 and 2023 over a defective rear tail lamp. So far, the UAE has issued 27 recalls for 34,386 cars this year, including brands such as Mercedes, Bentley, Land Rover, Kia, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Jeep, Mazda and Kia. ICA/Expat Media
