The UAE recorded its lowest temperature for October at 15.6°C in the early hours of October 16, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The reading was registered at 3:30am atop Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah's highest peak. This marks one of the coldest temperatures recorded in the country so far this season. Other low temperatures were also noted, with Fujairah’s Jabal Al Mebrah hitting 17.5°C at 12:15 pm, followed by Jabal Rahabah in Ras Al Khaimah, which recorded 18.4°C at 3:00 am. Rakna in Al Ain saw temperatures fall to 20.3°C by 6:30 am. These cooler temperatures signal the onset of more moderate weather across the UAE, especially in elevated and desert regions. In addition to cooler temperatures, several parts of the UAE, including Al Ain and Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region, experienced light to moderate rainfall on October 17. These rains were linked to a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea, which brought clouds and precipitation to the country. Areas like Sa'a, Al Foua, and Jebel Hafeet saw early showers as the system advanced inland. The NCM has also forecast further rainfall across eastern and western regions of the UAE in the coming days, with winds potentially stirring up dust and reducing visibility. Drivers are urged to remain cautious on the roads, particularly in areas prone to water accumulation and surface runoff during rain. Residents can expect continued cooler temperatures through the weekend, with the possibility of fog in some coastal and inland regions. Winds will range from 10 to 35 km/h, while the sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman will remain calm to moderate. The NCM advises checking weather updates regularly to stay informed about upcoming changes in conditions.
