UAE Covid-19 death toll nears 1,000 as 18 die in 24 hours

  DUBAI – The UAE reported its highest number of Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours on Thursday (February 11), with 18 more people dying of coronavirus. The deaths on Thursday bring the death toll close to 1,000, with 86 people dying of Covid-19 in the past seven days. The death toll now stands at 974. On Thursday, another 3,525 people had tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 338,667. However, 3,734 people had recovered from coronavirus in 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 319,787. There are 18,906 active Covid-19 cases in the UAE. Meanwhile, authorities continued a national vaccine campaign, with nearly 4.7 million Covid-19 vaccine doses administered since December.
