Nine Asian crew members are safe thanks to the heroic efforts of a five-member UAE Air Wing team who responded swiftly to a ship capsizing near Hamriyah port in Sharjah. The incident, reported by maritime authorities, prompted an urgent two-hour air rescue. Pilots and navigators from the Ministry of Interior’s Air Wing deployed aircraft to rescue the victims, all of whom escaped without injury. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, honoured the rescuers with medals for professional excellence. “This act reflects our commitment to protecting lives and recognising those who go above and beyond in their national and humanitarian duties,” he said. The honorees included pilots, air traffic controllers, and medical personnel. ICA/Expat Media
