Residents can charge electric cars for Dh7.50

UAE's Minister of Energy and Infrastructure stated that it costs Dh7.50 to charge an electric vehicle at a station which can travel 400 km. "The UAE is currently studying the provision of fast electric charging stations at gas stations so that the charging process takes 15 to 20 minutes," said Minister Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei during a Federal National Session (FNC) in Abu Dhabi. According to the minister, UAE was rated 13 globally for sustainable cities and transportation. The minister also reacted to a query concerning the rise in oil prices at the Federal National Council session. The prices had stabilized compared to when the Russian and Ukrainian crisis first started, and the UAE serves as a benchmark for defining the pricing structure for oil futures. The Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has approved a proposal to convert Dubai taxis (Dubai Taxi and franchise company taxis) into fully environmentally friendly (hybrid, electric, and hydrogen-powered) taxis by 2027 to support the UAE's sustainability strategy. The action complies with the demands of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, the Green Economy initiative, and the strategic goals of the Dubai Government for all-encompassing environmental sustainability.
