UAE residents can now breathe a little easier when it comes to paying for government services at the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). The ICP has announced a new initiative allowing residents to pay service fees in interest-free instalments for up to 12 months. The offer applies to payments worth Dh500 or more, with repayment terms ranging from three to 12 months, and zero per cent interest. The initiative, called “The Authority at Your Service”, was unveiled on Tuesday (October 14) during GITEX Global 2025 and aims to offer residents flexible, stress-free financial options. In its first phase, the instalment option will be available to credit card holders from 10 local banks, including First Abu Dhabi Bank, Emirates NBD, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, and Mashreq Bank, among others.  Residents can request to convert payments into instalments through their bank’s call centre, digital services, or directly via Visa cardholder options. Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, ICP Director General, said the initiative represents the authority’s commitment to “adopting innovative financial solutions that enhance efficiency, transparency, and customer satisfaction.” “The Authority at Your Service initiative empowers customers to manage their financial commitments more efficiently,” Al Khaili said. “It provides accessible financial solutions that enhance community well-being and improve satisfaction levels.” Major General Ahmed Mayouf Al Amri, Acting Director General for Support Services, added that the move sets a new benchmark for public service innovation. “With this launch, the authority signals a future where government financial transactions are designed to support citizens’ aspirations rather than add to their burdens,” Al Amri said. The ICP handles Emirates ID, passport, visa, residency, and Golden Visa services. The new instalment plan is expected to make essential services more affordable for UAE residents, while reinforcing the country’s reputation for smart and customer-friendly governance.
