UAE residents feel tremors after strong quake hits Iran
Residents in Dubai and Sharjah felt tremors in the early morning of Saturday (July 2) after a strong earthquake struck southern Iran. A second tremor was felt at 3:27am. According to the National Centre of Meteorology, the 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck southern Iran at 1:32am with a depth of 10km. In Dubai’s International City, residents reported feeling a mild shake. “I thought I was feeling dizzy, but when the table shook slightly for more than 30 seconds, I knew it was a tremor,” Ali Ibrahim, who occupies an apartment on the third floor, told Expatmedia.net. “I felt the earthquake, but thankfully we did not have to evacuate the building,” a Sharjah resident confirmed. The tremor only lasted less than a minute, she said.
