Scammers have launched a new fraud scheme targeting UAE residents by offering A2 Desi Ghee for just Dh1—only to steal thousands from unsuspecting victims. Simply The Great Food, the UAE-based company behind the original A2 Desi Ghee, has warned customers about fake websites imitating their brand. Victims were lured through social media ads and surveys, leading them to input credit card details. One victim recounted his experience: “I entered my card details, but the transaction failed. Hours later, I was charged Dh5,030 without an OTP request.” Scammers reportedly used malware to bypass security, adding stolen cards to Apple Pay and other digital wallets. While authorities have taken down several fraudulent websites, new ones continue to emerge. Simply The Great Food has launched a campaign to raise awareness. “We urge customers to only purchase through official channels,” a company representative said.
