UAE salaries to increase in 2022: study

  DUBAI – Employees in the UAE can expect some good news in 2022, with increase in salaries and bonuses expected across multiple sectors, according to a recent study. About 43 percent of companies planned to increased salaries of UAE workers by an average of 3 percent in 2022, according to a report by recruitment agency Cooper Fitch. The Cooper Fitch UAE Salary Guide 2022 polled more than 600 companies in the UAE. The companies that planned salary increases were mostly in the HR, manufacturing, advisory and technology sectors. The study found that 35 percent of companies planned to increase salaries by up to 5 percent, while 4 percent of companies plan to offer up to 69 percent increase in salaries. Some 5 percent of companies that participated in the survey also said they will increase workers’ salaries by at least 10 percent. About 37 percent of companies said salaries will remain the same in 2022, while 19 percent said they will cut salaries by up to 10 percent next year. Trefor Murphy, founder and chief executive of Cooper Fitch, said that the UAE’s tourism, real estate and aviation sectors were seeing a positive recovery, boosting hirings and business activity in the country.
