A salesperson has been caught on camera allegedly stealing money that was left outside the door of an apartment in Abu Dhabi. The incident happened on Saturday night (August 5) in a residential building in downtown Abu Dhabi. The salesperson had entered the building to place advertising stickers for a telecom company, and after spotting an envelope filled with cash hidden under an empty water can, he then stole it. CCTV footage of the incident implicated him in the theft. M.A., the owner of the envelope with cash, said it is always kept there for the staff of the company that delivers cans of drinking water to the apartment. M.A. said there has never been any incident of theft, until now, calling it "unexpected" and "shocking". M.A. said that CCTV footage showed the culprit posting a promotional sticker on the door of the opposite apartment before heading to their apartment and noticing the money hidden in the envelope. M.A. said that the unidentified man then took the bill and left the coins behind. M.A. said that following the incident, the family has alerted the building watchman. M.A. also reached out to the company indicated in the sticker that was placed on his door by the culprit, but that the manager denied any theft from the salesperson.
