Students and school staff across the UAE will get a five-day Eid Al Adha break starting Sunday (May 25), as the Ministry of Education confirmed the midterm holiday for the third academic term, coinciding with Eid Al Adha. The holiday will run until Thursday (May 29) and will apply to students, as well as administrative and teaching staff, in line with the ministry’s approved academic calendar for the 2025–2026 school year. Classes are set to resume on June 1, marking the continuation of the third and final term of the academic year.

What happens after the break

Following the return to school, students will begin preparations for their final exams through a series of key academic milestones outlined by the Ministry of Education. Mock examinations are scheduled for June 15 and 16. These assessments are designed to evaluate students’ academic readiness, identify areas for improvement, and help schools provide targeted support before final exams. An official holiday for the Islamic New Year will follow on June 17, which falls on a Wednesday, giving students another brief pause before entering the most critical phase of the term. Final examinations will then take place from June 24 to July 3, covering all grade levels. This period is considered the main evaluation stage of students’ academic performance. The ministry confirmed that July 3 will mark the final official school day for students. Makeup examinations for the third term are scheduled from July 6 to 9, allowing students who were unable to complete certain assessments to meet passing requirements. End-of-year results will be released on July 12 and 13, giving students and parents early access to academic outcomes. Re-sit examinations will follow from July 14 to 17, with final re-sit results scheduled to be announced on July 20.
