Students in UAE schools following the Ministry of Education (MoE) curriculum can look forward to a mid-term break from October 13 to 17, according to new circulars issued to parents and teaching staff. The break schedule applies to public and private schools across the country under the MoE curriculum for the 2025–2026 academic year, aligning with the ministry’s officially approved academic calendar. Classes will resume on Monday, October 20, across all schools and grade levels, according to circulars reviewed by Emarat Al Youm. Meanwhile, teachers and administrative staff will have a slightly different schedule. From October 13 to 15, they will participate in professional development programmes, followed by their own mid-term break from October 16 to 19. The new structure is being implemented for the first time this academic year as part of efforts to enhance educational quality and professional growth among educators. The Ministry of Education said the schedule is designed to “balance academic rigour with sufficient rest periods, supporting improved student performance and maintaining educational quality within a stable, well-organised framework.” Schools have also reminded parents to help their children use the mid-term break productively — whether through light study, reading, or family activities that reinforce learning. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to implementing a clear and structured academic plan that prioritises students’ well-being, academic success, and a smooth school year for all educational institutions under its umbrella.
