Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan emphasized historical and cultural ties with Iran during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian at the UN General Assembly in New York on Saturday. The Emirati diplomat expressed UAE's willingness to strengthen economic and commercial relations with Iran, saying that Abu Dhabi is prepared to hold a meeting of the council of business people of the two countries and host the Iranian delegations for various regional meetings, such as the International Renewable Energy Conference. Amirabdollahian, for his part, praised Iran's expanding relations with the UAE under Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's administration, praising the expansion of ties with the neighboring state in various spheres. He also briefed his Emirati counterpart on the current developments in the talks to resurrect the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and relieve sanctions against Iran.
