The General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) has announced that a total of Dh676 million in disbursed pensions will be awarded to 45,900 pensioners and beneficiaries in October 2022. The GPSSA noted that there had been an increase of Dh63 million from October 2021, during which the value of pensions disbursed amounted to Dh613 million. The amount is scheduled to be distributed to pensioners and beneficiaries on Thursday, October 27, 2022, according to the UAE Pension Authority, which also claimed that there were 45,900 pensioners and beneficiaries for October 2022, compared to 43,199 during the same month last year. According to a recent Mercer Institute research on global pension indicators, the UAE ranked 25th in its yearly survey, which covered 44 global pension systems — equivalent to 65 percent of the world's population. The study tracked significant indicators for retirement income systems worldwide and identified many ideas to help these countries provide better and more sustainable retirement benefits to their citizens.
