The World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference will take place in the UAE in 2024, the authorities announced on Monday. President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, welcomed the development and commended the delegation's tenacious efforts in securing the position. "The UAE is honored to have been chosen as the host country for the World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference in 2024," Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said. "We look forward to fostering fruitful communication between WTO members and advancing global collaboration for a sustainable economic future," he added. The Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also tweeted about the UAE's selection as the host nation: "164 countries in the World Trade Organisation will hold global trade development talks at the beginning of the year 2024 in the UAE... We welcome the participating countries... We welcome the World Trade Organisation... and we support all international moves that guarantee the free flow of goods and services between different countries of the world and protect the future of global trade."
