UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has personally paid for the printing of 100,000 copies of the Holy Quran that will be distributed for free, according to state news agency WAM. According to the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (GAIAE), the copies will be distributed to mosques, charities and Quran memorization centres in the UAE and overseas. This is the second batch of the Holy Quran to be printed as part of the Printing the Holy Quran project financed by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed. Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the GAIAE, praised the UAE president for his support. “The printing of these 100,000 copies of the Holy Quran is a continuation of the efforts of the UAE government to support the Quran and its teachings. The project is also part of the country's commitment to promote Islam and its values around the world,” Al Darei said. ICA/Expat Media
