The UAE National Media Office has referred a group of social media users to the Federal Public Prosecution after finding them in violation of the country’s media content standards. In a statement on Tuesday (August 26), the office said its monitoring team works around the clock to detect violations “with accuracy,” notify users of breaches, and urge compliance with UAE regulations to avoid legal consequences. “These measures aim to ensure a responsible media environment and protect communities from non-constructive content,” the office said, calling on all users to engage on social platforms “in line with media values and ethics.” The authority reminded the public of the importance of upholding the UAE’s principles of respect, tolerance, and coexistence online. It also confirmed that in cooperation with other government entities, legal action will be pursued against violators under laws designed to maintain a safe and balanced digital space. The move follows earlier warnings issued in March, when the office underscored the responsibility of social media users in protecting the country’s values in the digital sphere. ICA/Expat Media
